Instagram has some new filters on the block. Our five new friends go by the following hipster friendly handles: Slumber, Crema, Ludwig, Perpetua and Aden. Slumber: As the name suggests, it is a dreamy haze with minimal saturation. Crema: This filter is warm to the eye and cool to the touch. Ludwig: Brightens and whitens. “We named it Ludwig because of the famous minimalist mantra “less is more,” coined by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe,” said Instagram. “It works especially great with portraits, architecture, and geometric shapes.”
Aden: Softens skin tone and is ideal for portraits.
Perpetua: Enhances the blues and greens similar to that of the Pacific Northwest.
IG has also allowed the user to rearrange the tray so that your favorite filters can be easily accessible. You can also remove filters from the slider. You can now also adjust the horizontal and vertical planes of your images to change the perspective. On top of the five new Instagram filters, Instagram now offers the ability to upload slow motion video as well as real-time commenting on photos which means no refreshment necessary. We haven’t been this happy since IG began letting users edit their original captions!
Earlier in December, the photo sharing service announced that 300 million users are on Instagram at least once a month. That’s a rise of 50 percent from the previous milestone of 200 million active users in March 2014. Enjoy these festive filters and Happy Holidays!
